Family and Kids Fishing Trips

Our 4 hour kid and family trips are specifically designed to introduce the next generation to saltwater fishing, boating and interacting on the water. Unlike our regular inshore bay fishing trips, this is a shorter and more flexible option to go with the schedule of you and your family. Kid’s trips will take place in the calm waters of the Choctawhatchee Bay and Destin Harbor to maximize your child’s fish time and experience.

Crab Island Family Fun Day

Bring the family for a day of fishing and Crab Island fun! On this trip we will be fishing with the kids for the first 2 hours of the afternoon in and around the Destin Pass, looking for dolphins and other sealife as we reel in different fish!

For the second half of this trip we will be anchored up floating around the beautiful Crab Island. The emerald waters and stunning views make this an afternoon to remember! Be sure to bring your own drinks and snacks and let Captain Dan take you and your family out for a fun day on the water!

We provide everything you need for fun on this trip just bring some towels as well as drinks and snacks.

Private Island Family Fun Day

Bring the family for a day of fishing and private island fun! On this trip we will be fishing with the kids for the first 2 hours of the afternoon in and around the Emerald Coast Sound, looking for dolphins and other sealife as we reel in fish!

For the second half of this trip we will be anchored up and hanging out at some of Captain Dan’s personal favorite hangout spots. Whether you want to hang out on Spectre Island and watch airplanes take off from Hurlburt AFB, or snap awesome family photos at the Swing Island, we’ll have a great day on the water. The shallow waters and private islands make this an afternoon to remember!

Be sure to bring your own drinks and snacks and let Captain Dan take you and your family out for a fun day on the water! We provide everything you need for fun on this trip just bring some towels as well as drinks and snacks.

Private Island or Crab Island Sunset Family Fishing and Adventure Day

Bring the family for a day of Destin fishing and sunset adventure! This trip is fully customizable to you and your family!

This trip is customizable to how you and your family want to enjoy the beautiful Destin Sunset. On this trip we will either be fishing with the kids for the first 2 hours of the afternoon in and around the Emerald Coast Sound, or 2 hours of fishing in and around the Destin Pass, all while looking for dolphins and other sealife as we reel in different fish!

For the second half of this trip, we can anchor up at some of Captain Dan’s personal favorite hangout spots; from Spectre Island with airplanes taking off from Hurlburt AFB, to the Swing Island for some family photos – or maybe you want to see what Crab Island is all about! The beautiful shallow waters and private islands will make this an afternoon to remember.

Enjoy watching the sunset as we cruise back to dock after an unforgettable afternoon on the water. We provide all fishing gear! Just bring snacks, drinks, towels and sunscreen!

2 or 3 hour Kids Catch and Release Fishing Trips

Unlike our regular inshore bay fishing trips, this is a shorter and more flexible option to go with the schedule of you and your family. Kid’s trips will take place in the calm waters of the Choctawhatchee Bay and Destin Harbor to maximize your child’s fish time and experience.

Our kid’s trips are2 or 3 hours of fishing, boat cruising, dolphin watching and fun for the whole family. This trip is an “anything” that is biting type trip designed to keep your little one’s attention while teaching him or her hands on how to bait, catch, and reel in a fish from start to finish. You can also customize these trips to just strictly fish for 3 hours if your child prefers to over a dolphin/boat cruise.

Species often caught on our kid’s fishing trips include Catfish, Pinfish, Bluefish, Ladyfish, Redfish, Black Snappers, and Spanish Mackerel. We want to maximize the experience for your child while out on a shorter trip therefore we target the species with the best action during that time of the year. Most of our kid’s trips will be mainly catch and release.

What We Might Catch!

The local waters, bays and bayous, of Fort Walton Beach stay calm compared to offshore conditions, which makes a big difference when you are bringing kids along for a fishing trip. There are no long boat rides, no heavy waves and more time spent actually fishing.
